Curious about how the program is going? Here are some recent updates:
First graduate family
Family Promise of Albany County celebrated our first family to graduate the program last month! Please stay tuned for their story, which we will share as part of our #GivingTuesday campaign.
Family displaced from hurricane
While our primary vision is to help children and families in need in Albany County, occasionally we are able to serve those who are looking to relocate to this area. One such family fled Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael and traveled across the country to take refuge in Laramie, where they had close friends offering support. They joined the Family Promise program and benefited quickly from shelter, meals, and warm clothing (which they hadn’t needed in the south!). After about a week, the father secured full-time employment and saved funds to repair their vehicle. We wish them well in their new hometown.
Current family
We are currently serving one Wyoming family with three children. Their mother is working toward purchasing a car and then securing affordable housing in Laramie. In addition to families that enter our program officially, we support children and families with various needs on a daily basis.
Please contact us if you would like to partner with us in any way. We have a strong basis of support and will always welcome new faces. And if you know of a family in need of our services, please reach out.
